Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service Schools Education Home Learning Page
“As you know, at the moment we are unable to deliver our important safety messages face to face to children in schools across Hampshire. To overcome this barrier and support teachers and parents, we have created a new Home Learning resource hub on our website. Launched to coincide with Child Safety Week, this is packed full of educational resources such as challenges, project ideas, worksheets, games, e-books and more.”
The National Academy
This is a government funded online classroom and resource hub. The online classroom will provide free lessons and resources for pupils from reception through to year 6 and beyond. As part of a collective response to the crisis, 40 teachers will be producing over 180 free online lessons each week, which will cover a range of subjects from English and maths to arts and languages. These can be dipped into as much or as little as you like and can be used to supplement what we are already making available on line ourselves.
Explorify are posting weekly science activities that can be completed at home. The first activities are plants and properties of materials. There are also questions and photographs on twitter (@ExplorifySchool) that will spark children’s curiosity and thinking skills.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation have launched a new, free Digital Making at Home initiative to support parents and young people with coding at home. You don’t need any coding experience to join in, and all of their resources and activities are free forever.
Every Monday, they release new themed code-along videos about projects designed for all levels of ability. They also provide support tutorials for parents who are interested in learning more about coding tools like Scratch and Python, and over 200 projects with step-by-step instructions that are accessible online at any time — all for free.
