Attendance
Regular attendance is important to help your child achieve and reach their full potential. The expected attendance for a primary school child is 95%.
As a school, we ask you to help support your child’s attendance by adhering to the following:
- Ensure the school has up-to-date contact details – this can be updated on the Arbor app.
- The school day starts at 8.55am, you can arrive from 8.45am when the gates open.
- Please register an absence by 9am either via the Arbor app, or leave a phone message.
- If we do not receive a reason for your child’s absence, it is recorded as unauthorised.
- Pupils who are persistently late disrupt their own learning and the rest of the class, so we request that children are on time. If for any reason they will be late, please inform the school office. Children arriving late are required to register at the school office. If your child arrives after 9.15am, they will be marked with a U code. This code counts as an unauthorised absence.
- Persistent lateness results in a letter from the Headteacher and continued lateness will warrant a meeting.
- We encourage parents to make medical and dental appointments out of school hours when possible. Where this is not possible, the pupil should be out of school for the minimum amount of time necessary. Proof of appointment will need to be provided.
- Holidays should not be taken in term time. If you do need to take a leave of absence, please complete our leave of absence form well in advance.
- Contact the school office if you feel you need any support in getting your child to school.
